Shri Osiya Mataji, Osiya
The origin of Chandalia is from the Chouhan Rajputs. It is said that with the knowledge of Guru (Jain teacher) they learned to worship their Kuldevi. Kuldevi was pleased and appeared in the form of the Chandalini Devi so they were known as CHANDALIA. Further it is also said that their original gotra was LUNGA. On the request of the Lungas Devi Chandalini entered and remain in their house. It results that they became prosperous, and got so much wealth that can't finish. At the time of famine, they spent a lot of money for the welfare of the general public. They also performed many social and religious works. They build Dharmshalas (free rest houses for the general public), tanks, wells, Temples, and organize many Sangs for pilgrimage. Due to the welfare work their fame spread all over the country at that time.
It is also said that the Lungas established the city Chandalia, and when they moved to other places they were called Chandalia.
